John,
If I pay for my Shannon Region permit now will the new agency refund me in April? I see they have retained the same fee for 2010 (€39) despite the cutbacks!
The name may change but I suspect the same old traditions will remain.
Tight lines,

No, I am afraid no refund. However, you wont have to pay again and you will be able to fish these waters until the end of the year

Hi John, does the ShRFB pemit validity run from the 1st of January to the 31st of December? _________________ "Rivers and the inhabitants of the watery elements are made for wise men to contemplate and for fools to pass by without consideration."

They were designed around the trout season. I never had one but I am sure that they cover the year. I paid £20 in 1979 to become a life member of the Inland Fisheries Trust and that entitles me to fish on all these waters for as long as ............................................. well, hopefully, a long time

It looks like Inland Fisheries Ireland wont take over in April. It now looks like the Bill wont reach the Senate until the end of April so it will probably be the end of May or into June before the change takes place.
